Overview

Getweys is a design, engineering and growth studio operating from Austin, Auckland and Karachi. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit our website, contact us, or engage us for work, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

It applies to getweys.com and to any enquiry, proposal or project conducted through it. Where we build or operate a product for a client, that client is the controller of the data in their product and their own privacy policy governs it — we act on their instructions as a processor.

Information we collect

We collect only what a given interaction requires. Most visitors never give us anything beyond routine technical data.

Category
What it covers
Contact details
Name, email address, phone number and company, when you submit an enquiry form or email us directly.
Project information
Whatever you choose to tell us about your brief, budget, timeline or existing systems while we scope the work.
Technical data
IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page and the pages you viewed, collected automatically by our hosting and analytics tooling.
Usage data
Aggregate measures of how the site is used — which pages hold attention, where journeys end — used to improve the site itself.
Application data
If you apply for a role, the CV, portfolio links and any details you send in support of your application.
Client account data
For active engagements, the credentials, billing details and correspondence needed to deliver and invoice the work.

We do not knowingly collect special category data — health, biometrics, political or religious views, or similar — and we ask that you do not send it to us unless a project specifically requires it and we have agreed how it will be handled.

How we use your information

  • To respond to enquiries and prepare proposals, quotes and scopes of work.
  • To deliver, support and invoice the services you have engaged us for.
  • To communicate about a live project — status, decisions, approvals and handover.
  • To operate, secure and improve our website and its content.
  • To assess applications for open roles.
  • To send occasional updates about our work, where you have asked to receive them.
  • To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations, and to establish or defend legal claims.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use a small number of cookies and comparable storage mechanisms. Strictly necessary ones keep the site working — routing, security and load balancing — and cannot be switched off. Analytics cookies help us understand which pages are useful and are only set where permitted.

You can clear or block cookies through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site from working correctly.

Sharing and disclosure

We share personal information only where there is a reason to, and only with recipients bound to protect it.

  • Service providers who host our site, deliver our email, process payments, or provide analytics and project management tooling, acting on our instructions.
  • Professional advisers — accountants, auditors and lawyers — where required for legitimate business purposes.
  • Authorities or regulators where disclosure is legally required, or to protect our rights, safety or property.
  • A successor entity, in the event of a merger, acquisition or restructuring, subject to this policy continuing to apply.

International transfers

We operate across the United States, New Zealand and Pakistan, and our service providers may be located elsewhere. Personal information may therefore be transferred outside the country in which you live, including to jurisdictions whose data protection laws differ from your own.

Where such a transfer takes place, we put appropriate safeguards in place — typically the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or an equivalent mechanism — so that your information keeps a comparable level of protection.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as it serves the purpose it was collected for, then delete or anonymise it.

  • Enquiries that do not become projects — kept while the conversation is live and for a reasonable period afterwards, in case you return.
  • Project and client records — kept for the duration of the engagement and afterwards for the period required by tax, accounting and limitation law.
  • Unsuccessful job applications — kept for a limited period so we can contact you about future roles, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
  • Website analytics — retained in aggregate form, which does not identify you individually.

Security

We apply technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk: encrypted connections, access limited to the people who need it, credential management, and review of the providers we rely on. Client credentials issued to us are held in managed secret storage and revoked at the end of an engagement.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affecting your personal information occurs, we will notify you and any relevant regulator where the law requires it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights over your personal information.

  • Access — ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Rectification — ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Erasure — ask us to delete information where there is no longer a reason for us to keep it.
  • Restriction — ask us to limit how we use your information while a concern is resolved.
  • Portability — receive certain information in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Objection — object to processing carried out on the basis of legitimate interests.
  • Withdraw consent — where we rely on consent, withdraw it at any time without affecting earlier processing.
  • Complain — raise the matter with your local data protection authority.

To exercise any of these, email info@getweys.com. We will respond within the period required by applicable law, and may ask you to verify your identity before we act.

Children's privacy

Our website and services are directed at businesses and are not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our services, tooling or legal obligations change. The revision date at the top of this page always reflects the current version, and material changes will be signposted on this page before they take effect.
